Dog Training by P.J.'s methods are a welcome alternative to the forceful, coercive and intimidating techniques used by some trainers still in the business. We do not use or recommend the use of pinch (prong) collars, choke chains or e-collars. Dog Training by PJ promotes a gentle, approach to training our four-legged friends based in behavioral sciences and learning theory.

We have developed a training program that is fun and educational, and this creates a strong bond between you and your dog. We want your dog to be a general delight to be around, no matter whether he's a newly acquired puppy, a rambunctious adolescent, or a shelter dog.

Our classes offer fun and interactive dog training with hands-on instruction for all breeds, ages and sizes, and skill levels. For those dogs with special needs, we provide specialty classes, including our “Growly Dog” class – dogs with behavior problems are more common than you may think, and we're eager to help you! We also offer private sessions. Our Certified Professional Dog Trainers are available for personalized behavior modification, problem solving consultations, and more. We will help you to achieve a successful, positive relationship with your dog and accomplish your behavioral goals, while also keeping a positive relationship with your dog.

Our trainers are certified dog trainers and offer you the best training available for your best friend. Our inviting indoor training facility and educational resource center is designed to be enjoyed for many years to come - just around the corner from Meadowood Mall, it offers a climate-controlled environment that is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Additionally, we offer classes at Orvis Store in the Summit Mall and Fantasia Pet Resort for your convenience.

Dog Training by PJ is proud of the association with Lake Tahoe Humane Society and SPCA. All levels of training classes will be provided through this wonderful association.
