CLASS DESCRIPTIONS AND FEES

LEVEL III CLASSES

 All Level III Classes Are Designed as Follows:

·        All age dogs that have attended a group training class, including puppy kindergarten, toy dog class, adolescent class or a basic skills class from another trainer.

·        Dogs must have attended level II class (Brilliant Buddy)

·        Dogs should be able to respond to sit, down, stay and come.

·        Families, including children* are encouraged to attend.  (*children should be able to remain calm and follow directions from Instructor during the hour class, can assist with training with parental supervision and assistance.)

·        Training, learning and practice occur in each session.

·        Designed to increase the focus of your dog while developing a level of consistency of each behavior in the presence of various distractions.

·        There is no fluff in our classes, no tour, you don’t attend without your dog, and the final day of class includes lessons and handout materials.

·         Our class size is limited to provide you and your dog with the best training experience.  Yes, we will know your names, your goals and your aspirations for your dog. ULTI-MUTT CONSISTENCY

·  Dogs must have attended level II class (Brilliant Buddy)

·  Dogs should be able to respond to sit, down, stay and come

·  Class continues to develop the near-perfect leash heel

·  Improves ability to maintain dog's attention at a higher level while you continue to proof your dog's behaviors

·  Designed to increase the focus of your dog while having some fun learning in the presence of various distractions and exercises

·  Families, including children* are encouraged to attend. (*children should be able to remain calm and follow directions from Instructor during the hour class, can assist with training with parental supervision and assistance.)

·  Training, learning and practice occur in each session.

RALLY OBEDIENCE “RALLY O” CLASS

·        All age dogs that have attended a group training class, including puppy kindergarten, toy dog class, adolescent class or a basic skills class from another trainer.

·        Dogs must have attended a 2^nd level class (Brilliant Buddy) to participate in this Rally O class.

·        Rally O class is six, one hour sessions.

·        Class developed to use a course where dog and handler use directional signs to run through the numbered course.

·        Rally O goes beyond obedience by utilizing over forty obedience movements with sits, turns, downs and heeling.

·        Rally O develops dogs and handlers to work at a brisk pace, using a positive attitude with a happy demeanor.

·        Rally O concept is to create an obedience program that emphasizes fun and excitement and allows for a more natural performance.

·        Rally O will greatly add to your ability to maintain your dog's attention and attitude at a higher level.

·        Proof of current vaccinations is required as follows:

o   We require the dog be current on vaccinations or have received a proven titer test from your veterinarian that your dog has received the immunity levels required for safety of all animals and people. 

o   Most puppies are not vaccinated for Rabies until they have received some of the series vaccinations, however, puppies must be current in the vaccination series.

o   Rabies vaccination is required for adult dogs. 

o   We encourage Bordetella but it is not required since we do not board dogs or puppies (We do encourage you to refer to your Veterinarian’s recommendation for Bordetella.)

o    At Dog Training by PJ we follow the American Veterinarian Medical Association (AVMA) Council on Biologic and Therapeutic Agents' Report on Cat and Dog Vaccines recommendations.  (http://www.avma.org/avmacollections/rabies/javma_221_10_1401.PDF)  For puppies the core vaccines include distemper, canine adenovirus-2 (hepatitis and respiratory disease), canine parvovirus-2, and rabies. 

o   These vaccinations are also called “five in one” or DHLP-P vaccinations because they are a combination vaccine that will immunize against five very common but potentially deadly diseases.

·         Flat collar or harness or gentle leaders. (no metal collars or leads please)

·        Leash, 4’ – 6’ length (no metal leads or retractable leads please)

·        15’-20 long line is encouraged.

·        Toy for play is required (please not balls since they roll away)

·        “Stuffed” KONGâ for distraction, or bully sticks, flossies, chewies is strongly encouraged.

·        Treat bag or fanny pack is encouraged for easy handling of treats.

·         Instructor-Trainer may recommend a head halter (Gentle Leaderâ or Haltiâ) or “no pull harness” (Sensations Gentle Harnessâ)

DANC’N WITH DOGS (free style dance with dogs) CLASS

Yes you really can learn this too and have fun developing your own dance routine!

·        All age dogs that have attended a group training class, including puppy kindergarten, toy dog class, adolescent class or a basic skills class from another trainer. Brilliant Buddy (2nd level class is required to attend Danc’n with Dogs)

·        Danc’n with Dogs class is six, one hour sessions.

·        Danc’n with Dogs Class was developed to gain great focus from our dogs while learning movement and dancing with dogs to music.

·        Danc’n with Dogs is a fun sport for the owners and dogs.

·        Danc’n with Dogs builds a stronger bond with your dog while adding other dimensions to your training "tool kit" including music, timing, routine development and showmanship.

·        Class is great for seniors, kids, people with older less active dogs and fun way to keep active with our dogs.

·         Danc’n with Dogs class is a MUST for all dogs who compete, are generally good, well-adjusted and manner companions and of course those dogs/owners desiring to give back to the community with pet dog therapy visits.
