BRILLIANT BUDDY

A Brilliant Buddy Class Testimonial: I completed the puppy kindergarten class and was so thrilled with how smart my puppy, Heidi was when working with her. She did great, however I wanted her to run with me off-leash and felt it was important for her to learn more before I just let her run. Wow! The class was all it says and more! Heidi just graduated Brilliant Buddy and will now run right next to me on a very lose long line leash. She comes when I call her, even when she'd rather chase the rabbits! I had so much fun in this class and learned so much I’m going to take Tricks class and then Heidi and I will attend Ultimutt Consistency and we can't wait for the Danc'n with Dogs class. I’m so hooked by the training bug, that I can’t wait each week for class and neither can Heidi. As someone else wrote, "what do you know – it works!" – Holly

Brilliant Buddy is six one-hour sessions. Dogs must have attended Level I training at Dog Training by PJ or other equivalent class from another trainer. This class is a small organized group class that will expose your budding trained dog to new situations, distractions while increasing your dog’s consistency and reliability in skills and behaviors taught in your Level I classes. This class will continue to introduce more challenging distractions, introduce and work distance behaviors, continue target work for a great heel, and while maintaining your dog’s focus and attention on you. Your dog’s recall will be perfected around distractions and you’ll have fun teaching the reliable recall. This class leads you and your dog toward our REAL WORLD or ADVENTURE WORKSHOPS, offered regularly and posted as events on Facebook. You and your dog is exposed to more difficult situations, teaches you and your dog skills to handle those more stressful situations without panic or inappropriate reaction by your dog.

Your dog must be current in their vaccinations and have Rabies vaccination unless otherwise stated by your veterinarian. A health certificate is required if unable to provide vaccination records. We do accept titer results from your veterinarian. We encourage your dog to have the Bordetella, however it is not required because we do not board animals in our facility. We encourage you to refer to your Veterinarian’s recommendation for Bordetella when attending group training classes.

The Brilliant Buddy class is the stepping stone for your dog to obtain its American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizenship Certificate/Title. The AKC CGC is a standardized method to measure training and manners. Some insurance homeowner policies now require AKC-CGC certification. In addition, the AKC CGC is the first step toward your dog testing for therapy dog certification.

FUN WITH TRICKS

A Fun With Tricks Class Testimonial: Simply the BEST! We are so happy to have chosen Dog Training by PJ for our dog, Sophia. We did toy puppy class and learned so much each week. The knowledge of the Trainers at Dog Training by PJ really is demonstrated in their ability to answer questions and help us with a few minor things we were experiencing with Sophia. She just couldn’t focus and PJ recommended we attend the Tricks class. At first we had reservations since we were not sure tricks would do the job, but guess what, it did! Sophia had so much fun, we had some great times and learned more than we ever thought possible. Sophia was the star in class. What a smarty she is and we are so proud of our Sophia! We even asked for a trick not taught and PJ was so accommodating and taught us how to begin teaching Sophia to walk on her front feet with her hind feet in the air like a hand-stand! Again, simply the best! We are so glad we listened and took PJ’s advice and joined this class. Sincerely, Patti & Dan

Fun with Tricks is six one-hour sessions; however, generally the dogs become fatigued after 50 minutes of training because they are having so much fun learning! Dogs must have attended Level I training at Dog Training by PJ or other equivalent class from another trainer. This class is a small organized group class that will expose your dog to new fun ways to train, teach and learn and teach your dog to THINK! Just some of the tricks taught include, playing the piano, sneaky dog, locate the lost item, soccer, cop-cop walking, sword fighting, hoops, say your prayers, find nut under cup game, can-can walking, roll over, sit pretty, salute, stand for frisking and much more! Have something in mind? We’ll help you develop the trick! So simply ask and we’ll do our best to teach you how to teach your dog! This class helps dogs or puppies that were very distracted while they attended their Level I class. You want focus? Well, this is your class. You'll be amazed how many owners find this class is great as a stepping stone toward BRILLANT BUDDY CLASS or DANC’N WITH DOGS CLASS and once the Brilliant Buddy Class is completed, you and your dog will want to join our REAL WORLD or ADVENTURE WORKSHOPS, offered regularly and posted as events on Facebook.
